Professional Background

Prior to joining  the Firm in 2002 as a GST specialist, Jacques gained significant experience within the Big Four environment in Australia and overseas VAT/GST jurisdictions.

Jacques was a barrister and spent time with the South African Revenue Authorities where he was a key member of the VAT/GST legislation review panel.

Jacques has spent over 10 years in Australia providing advice to major international and local clients and as such has gained a well regarded reputation in all areas of GST, specialising in property, aged care, insurance and financial services.

During his time with the Firm's Taxation Consulting Division, Jacques has assisted clients with a variety of GST structuring assignments, compliance matters, ATO audits and dispute resolution as well as advising on complex and sophisticated transactions in this field.

By investing the time to understand the nature of our clients' businesses, Jacques has assisted in developing solutions to maximise input tax credit recovery, minimise cash flow impacts, streamline compliance requirements and build strong relationships with both clients and the Australian Taxation Office.
