Professional Background

Simon is a leader and innovator in the field of corporate taxation advice including income tax and FBT, capital gains tax and restructuring, tax audits and tax due diligence.

Simon gained much of his experience within the Big Four environment before joining the Firm and his active management style focuses on managing the process efficiently.

With his particular experience in the property development and tourism industries, Simon's formidable expertise means he consistently achieves his aims.

Whilst Simon has provided advice across a number of industries including the mining, textile manufacturing, leisure craft construction, transportation, primary production, general manufacturing and professional service industries, much of Simon's experience relates to his involvement in the property and tourism arena.

He has provided both tax structuring and planning advice with respect to domestic and international projects and has been involved in the development of tax effective strategies for participants in those industries.

Simon's expertise extends to issues related to prudential tax audits and due diligence reviews involved in corporate acquisitions.  He is also involved in the provision of business and tax planning advice on an ongoing basis.

Throughout Simon's career, he has been involved in the presentation of specialist topics for the various professional bodies and the establishment of technical seminars for smaller practitioners in regional Queensland.
