Professional Background

Stephen joined Moore Stephens in 1996 after working for over five years in KPMG's taxation division. He has acted for a diverse range of clients including individuals, large private groups, government entities and public groups. He has considered a wide variety of issues.

Stephen's main emphasis during this period has been on providing taxation consulting services to large private groups and public groups in the following industries:

  • Property
  • Manufacturing
  • Funds management
  • University sector

Stephen is a leading tax advisor to the property industry and is a member of the Property Councils (Vic) Tax Committee.

The type of work that Stephen has performed for these organisations includes:

  • International tax structuring
  • Consideration of complex tax consolidations, CGT and tax loss recoupment issues including, issues arising on the sale or restructure of businesses and ensuring that appropriate roll-overs are utilised.
