Professional Background
Tim has worked in our Accounting & Taxation Services Division since November 1999, after joining us from a medium sized city chartered accounting firm, where he had worked previously for three years.
Tim was employed as an intermediate when joining our firm and was admitted as Partner in January 2008. Tim has a diverse knowledge of tax related matters including corporate/family structures, taxation planning, shareholder and associate loan rules, trust loss provisions, goods and services tax and international taxation. Tim is the technical advisor to the Accounting & Taxation Services Division on these and other associated matters.
Tim has spent considerable time of late assisting businesses going through a transition phase, be it through acquisition or divestment. Tim's expertise in this area includes, valuations, due diligence, business sale agreements and taxation implications arising from these transactions. Tim has a broad range of clients that engage in a number of different disciplines including construction, legal, commercial infrastructure, IT, consulting, wholesaling, retailing, finance and hospitality amongst others.
Tim is widely regarded as a leading consultant in the gaming industry. He has played an integral role with numerous hotel and club gaming venues in terms of assisting with the transition of the new Victorian Gaming Regime commencing in 2012, and was active in leading gaming operators through the 2010 Gaming Entitlement Auction process.
Aside from the above Tim also prepares expert reports for the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation (VCGR) hearings, assists venues with funding proposals, provides detailed financial modelling and forecasting and provides general gaming consultancy.
