A ride to raise - Moore Stephens supports Beyond Blue

Beyond Blue, together with Charity Car Events, host an annual awareness event across New South Wales ‘Beyond Bitumen’. For the second year in a row Alan Quinlan, IT Manager at Moore Stephens NSW participated in the event and helped raise just over $10,000 of the more than $200,000 raised by Beyond Bitumen tour.
The 4-day tour commenced on Friday 31st March in Nowra, NSW and continued across a number of rural communities. These communities benefit from the added tourism and interaction that they may not have otherwise had. Alan Quinlan remarked ‘A number of people I spoke to said they were directly affected by mental illness in their family and really appreciated the support.’
130 car enthusiasts between 50 and 60 cars participated this year with the ultimate aim of raising awareness for Beyond Blue. Beyond Blue state that around 1 million Australian adults have depression and over 2 million have anxiety in any given year. They aim to educate and inform on everyone about recognising how depression, anxiety and suicide can affect people and simple strategies to understand what to do if it happens to them or someone close to them.
