Catherine Sayer

Catherine is Chief Executive Officer of Food South Australia Inc., the State’s peak industry body for food and beverage manufacturers and producers. Catherine is passionate and committed to developing South Australia’s food industry and continues to raise the profile of the importance of the industry. Based in Adelaide, Food South Australia delivers programs for the industry to grow markets, grow capability and grow connections designed for startup businesses through to the largest businesses in South Australia.  Food South Australia also hosts the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Awards.

Matt Haren

Matt is Co-founder and Director of Test Kitchen and his new venture Tablehood. Matt has reinvented himself from award-winning researcher in nutrition, health and ageing to social innovator and aspiring entrepreneur. Matt works at the intersection of ageing, nutrition and wellbeing and seeks to put causal research evidence to work by blending it with customer-centred design and innovative business models.

Christine Robertson

As Executive Officer of the Adelaide Farmers Market, Christine is an entrepreneurial marketing, event/project and food professional with extensive experience at upper management level. She has worked in small and large businesses, member associations, retail and production, not for profit and on major and minor events.

Dr Maria Saarela
Dr. Saarela is a research director in food sciences at South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) and an Affiliate Professor in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, Faculty of Sciences, University of Adelaide. She has graduated from the University of Helsinki and she is a doctor of food sciences. She was previously working at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland where she was involved in food microbiology and functional food research for 20 years. During the past 10 years she has also been working with EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) in various expert tasks related to food and feed safety. She has about 130 papers in international scientific journals and 17 book chapters.
